Forthcoming LIKE Events 2017
We are lining up a great schedule of events for 2017. Many of our popular in-person events are happening the third Wednesday of the month at The Plough in Bloomsbury whilst we also have a number of webinars lined up too. Please reserve the dates in your diary and look out for tickets being relased on Eventbrite.
We have selected The Plough as our new regular venue as The Green in Farringdon has come under new management and has converted the upstairs room into a dining area.
LIKE 71. Wednesday 8 February. Information literacy webinar: Why it matters for today's and tomorrow's workforce. Joint event with the Leadership and Management Division of SLA
Information literacy is not a term that is generally recognised in the workplace. But there is increasing evidence of the relevance of information know-how in the context of employment and employability.
It is inherent to many factors - ranging from team-working to problem-solving to business awareness that are critical to the success of enterprises, whether commercial, public or not for profit. And with the fast evolving nature of work with rapid technological change, unpredictability, job insecurity and complex lifelong career paths, the ability to master information is that much more pertinent.
In this webinar, Stéphane Goldstein, Executive Director of InformAll will introduce some of the questions and challenges that point to the critical importance of an information-literate workforce.
