Information 2.0: new models of information production, distribution and consumption

with Dr Martin de Saulles

The LIKE mini-book festival continues in May when we'll hear from Dr Martin de Saulles, author of Information 2.0: new models of information production, distribution and consumption.

As ever more powerful digital devices become standard in the home and workplace and networks, fixed and mobile, connect us wherever we are, the world of information is changing in dramatic ways.

While information is more abundant and accessible than at any previous time, the challenges for those tasked with making sense of it have also increased. As information sources increase so too do the expectations of users, particularly those trying to make strategic decisions for their organisations. When information is available to all, it is the manipulation and interpretation of the data that matters most.

In this talk Martin will discuss some of the topics raised in his new book and will argue that we are going through a revolutionary rather than evolutionary stage in the world of information. Personal computing, the internet and mobile technologies have created a platform from which new ways of working, new organisational structures and new roles within the workplace will radically transform our economy and society.
